Honey is not an industrial stock item, and our colonies do not produce to meet immediate demand. We explain why you will not find an automated online shop or shopping-cart button here.
When we considered what our website should look like, one option was straightforward: a conventional online shop with a catalogue, shopping cart and automated emails. We deliberately chose another path — and would like to explain why, because it says a great deal about our approach to beekeeping.
Honey is not a stock item
Our colonies do not produce to meet demand. The nectar flow depends on the weather, what is flowering and how the bees have fared that year. Some years we bottle more; others, less. A website that suggests an unlimited supply with a ‘buy’ button would make little sense — the supply is naturally limited, and we want you to know that.
Farm-gate sales as a way of working
In the Czech Republic, there is a traditional, legally established form of direct sale by the keeper, known as farm-gate sales. It lets us offer small quantities of honey directly from where it is made, without shipping packaging or distribution. This approach makes sense for a small batch from our own colonies, rather than mass production.
Our website therefore works as an invitation. Write to let us know you are interested, and we will reply to confirm whether any of the current batch is still available. If it is, we will arrange a time for you to visit. You take the honey home directly from our apiary in Bratřice — getting to know both its place of origin and the beekeeper who cared for it.
What this gives you
For us, less automation means more personal attention. When you write, a person replies. When you collect honey, you speak directly with the person who has cared for the bees all year. That is what matters most to us about selling honey — and why we have chosen to keep our website a place for personal connection.
