Geography of silence: where orchards and forests give their finest honey

Back to our story

The luxury of the 21st century is defined by silence and seclusion. As the world around us becomes ever more uniform, we retreat beyond the reach of civilisation to protect the genuine character of our batches.

We protect our colonies from the effects of intensive farming and the bustle of towns. Our hives sit in a quiet corner of Vysočina on the edge of Bratřice, close to the forests below Stražiště hill. In a landscape home to only around a hundred and fifty people, the pace follows the setting sun and the silence of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Where tarmac roads become woodland paths and the air smells of pine needles and blossoming orchards, our honey is at home.

This local purity is earned through honest care. It is mornings when dew soaks the grassy paths and heavy boots feel the firmness of Vysočina's granite bedrock. For us, luxury in the geography of silence means the willingness to give the bees time and care, so we can release honey from the comb in its pure, untouched form.

Vysočina terroir: Stražiště hill and the strength of minerals

Every place in Vysočina tastes different. We use the term terroir — the combined influence of bedrock, microclimate and flowering plants. The gneiss and granite of our region give trees and herbs a particular mineral signature, which the bees carry into every drop of honey.

Seclusion as the highest standard

As our bees pollinate the unspoilt countryside of Vysočina, the honey remains a tangible impression of its surroundings. If the countryside below Stražiště does not bloom fully in a particular year, or the meadows give no honey, that batch will not appear in our collection. It is an expression of respect for nature's pace. We do not bend the landscape to our wishes; we accept its gifts in their raw and rare form.

From blossom to jar: a story without compromise

The journey of our honey is direct and honest. From the orchards and forests below Stražiště, it travels straight to the jar under personal supervision, without long journeys or anonymous warehouses. Buying a SAD LES MED batch gives you more than a product — a piece of Vysočina that we have protected from the noise of the world. It is an invitation to places where life tastes its most intense.
