29 October 2026 update: no separate linden honey this year
The linden nectar flow ultimately overlapped with another blossom nectar flow. We will therefore not be adding a separate linden honey to this year's collection. We would rather let this year's harvest speak for itself. Not every hope becomes a label of its own.
Original entry from 19 July 2026
Our apiaries around Bratřice are unusually busy. Old linden trees line the paths to secluded homes and the woodland edges. This year they have blossomed with exceptional intensity. The scent of linden blossom carries for hundreds of metres, and the bees work the flowers from morning until dusk.
Until now, we have mainly offered blossom honey from wild spring meadows and forest honeydew honey. Pure linden honey is rare in Vysočina. Above 600 metres, the trees bloom only briefly, and the cooler, windy climate around Stražiště often works against them. This year could be an exception.
Vladimír checks the hives daily: ‘The bees are bringing in pale, aromatic nectar with a light menthol note. If the sunshine lasts, this year we will bottle our very first single-variety linden batch. It will be a new addition to our collection.’
